Thank You for Reading! (Have an Award)

This post is a thank you for three different blog awards. The first two are on the same theme…an extremely important theme, I think, which is Thank You, Readers!

So this isn’t really about me, it’s about you! Thank you, thank you for reading and following. And especially, thank you to those of you who comment! You make this whole venture worthwhile. When I started blogging, I assumed no one would read any of this, but it turns out there are a lot of us out here on the Internet!

So without further ado, the first award is…

I was lucky enough to be nominated for this award by Lydia Devadason at “An Idiot’s Guide to Parenting.” Her blog is great, I’m telling you! Deadpan and very funny–check it out! In accepting this award, I am required to do the following:

  1. Display the award.
  2. Thank the person who nominated me.
  3. Nominate 14 blogs who are readers of my blog.
  4. Let the nominees know.

I am also thrilled to have received the Blog Love Award from Shannon at Game of Diapers. I’ve told you before about her fabulous blog. This award, which she created, is also meant to thank loyal readers.

My Gosh, Blog of the Year Award

Image

I am honored to have been nominated for what has to be the most prestigiously-titled blog award out there, the Blog of the Year Award, 2013! Thank you so much to Shannon at the amazing Game of Diapers. If you haven’t visited her blog, please check it out. You will find something interesting (She was one of the very first to leave a comment on my blog, and I’ve been an avid follower ever since.)

I was also nominated for this award by Melissa at Living in the Deep End. Definitely check her blog out! This week she had a post about potty training twins that will make you Laugh Out Loud. Seriously.

To learn more about this blog award you can visit The Thought Palette, Here. This award can be won up to six times (you can collect stars). So without further ado, here are my ten nominations. Enjoy! Hope you find some new ones to follow! The beauty of blogging is connecting with other bloggers. There are wonderful, kind people out there. And so, in no particular order:

The One in a Million Baby A teacher from New Zealand expecting her first baby in April and dealing with some pregnancy complications.

Four to Adore She has quadruplets. Or “quaddlers” as she says in the blog. They are all cute.

Positively Sarcastic She has twin boys. They wreak havoc.

Journey to the Finish Line “Mapping a course in running, motherhood, and everything in between.” She has boy girl twins.

Vrai-lean-uh “Cooking, eating, making sweeping pronouncements.”

The Monster in Your Closet “…is quite friendly, actually!”

Postcards Without Stamps “Photography and Beyond.” The “beyond” is parenthood, how to live life.

Put the Kettle On “Irish mummy on raising her boy and girl twins.”

Glorious Results of a Misspent Youth “Saving the world from stupidity…one blog at a time.”

Tales of a Twin Mombie “Because I will probably never sleep a full night again in my life, and I’m okay with that.”

I Just Got My First Blog Award

This is pretty exciting. I just got nominated for my first blog award. I’m pleased that it’s the “Terrific Writer Award” 🙂 Thank you zainabjavid! You can visit her blog and read her post here. It looks like I’m supposed to share seven things about myself and then nominate five blogs? That’s how I’m interpreting this, anyway. So here are seven facts about me:

1. My first journal was in Spanish (I was in a Spanish Immersion program at school, from Kindergarten through sixth grade).

2. I graduated a semester early from high school, then spent the second semester with a family in Iquique, Chile as an AFS exchange student.

3. I love pickles and black licorice (but not together).

4. My desk is always a mess.

5. I really love art supplies. I like looking at new paints and fresh colors and ink pens and boxes of things with tubes inside all lined up and interesting materials to draw on. And also beautiful sketchbooks and paper with patterns or textures. Yes.

6. I’m embarrassed that I kind of like scratch-off lotto tickets. I’ve decided I’m allowed to buy one a month. I also love horse races (two dollar bets), though I don’t get to go often.

7. I miss the dog I had growing up. His name was Hobbes and he was a black hound dog with soulful brown eyes who could never get enough pets.

I’m pretty overwhelmed by this choosing nominations task. I’m new to the blogging world. But here are the five blogs I’ve nominated. All great writers, I think. And all very different.

MY BRAIN IS THE CLIFF

I enjoy this one. She’s a poet and also writes essays about her toddler daughter.

Vrai-lean-uh

Just an awesome blog. She has a one-year-old son, cooks amazing food, and lives in Portland, Maine.

Kimchi Latkes

Thoughtful writing. She has two young daughters, plus a baby boy with down syndrome.

Invisible Horse

Very centering. Found this when it was featured on Freshly Pressed, and he had a great post about sketching guinea pigs.

Infinitefreetime

Funny. He’s a math teacher. He’s also a father.
