Hugging is a funny thing, right? Why do we love hugs? I realized the other day that we can’t carry babies without hugging them. We don’t have pouches, they don’t hang on our backs. Maybe that’s where our fixation comes from. It’s been with us since babyhood.
Lately, when I hug the babies, they hug back. They put their arms around my neck and cuddle in. They make a high pitched coo, then lean forward to suck my cheek. I remember having a conversation with D about what it felt like, having kids. We decided it was the feeling of your heart getting bigger. You didn’t know it could get bigger.
How sweet!
Was feeling in a thankful mood 🙂
Beautiful post. Got my heart .xxx
❤ (that's a heart!)
Ah it’s lovely when they become affectionate.
Agreed 🙂
I love your writing! This post is do true, and I get the feeling babies totally love hugs too – sometimes they just settle right into your heart space and plant a lovely seed there! Mine do it when I pick them up after breakfast – such a treat! 🙂
Thanks! I know. Sometimes when I hug them I feel a shiver, as if love is a physical thing I’m conveying. Thanks for commenting!
